Works commence at 17-19 York Place, Leeds
Konect has started electrical refurbishment works at 17-19 York Place in Leeds. The Category A fit out works are being undertaken to three floors of the Grade A office building. The four-storey building, which comprises of three Georgian townhouses, provides 17,590 sq ft of prime office accommodation in the central business district together with 16 parking spaces.

Installation of LED floodlighting at System 3, Manchester
Konect has commenced works on site to install energy efficient LED floodlights at System 3 in Denton, Manchester. The new LED lighting will provide a long lifetime and heavily reduce any maintenance costs. System 3 is one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of high specification double glazed units for domestic and commercial applications.

AO.Com agrees 400k sq ft letting
One of Konect’s clients, AO.Com has agreed a letting of almost 400,000 sq ft in Crewe, Cheshire, becoming AO’s logistics base for the UK. A ten year lease has been taken with Prologis on the 386,753 sq ft Crossflow380 distribution warehouse. Crossflow380 provides easy access to the motorway network via Junction 16 of the M6.

Profits up as Missguided eyes overseas push
Missguided, one of Konect’s former clients, has announced that strong sales in both the UK and internationally have helped profits rise five-fold. The Salford Quays-headquartered company, which said that international expansion remains at the forefront of its strategic plans, also revealed that it plans to launch further local language sites in Europe. In its latest set of accounts, Missguided posted pre-tax profits of £4.7m for the year ending 31 March 2015. This represents a rise of 409 per cent on a year earlier. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation increased by 353 per cent to £5.5m over the same period. And the results show that turnover climbed by 70 per cent to £87.2m in 2014/15. The UK contributed £66.2m, while the rest of the European Union provided £9.7m, and the rest of the world added £11.3m.

Annual Charity Challenge
A few members of staff from Konect were pleased to be part of a charity bowling event organised by Brown and Bancroft. Whilst the team had a thoroughly enjoyable evening, they were delighted to support the organisers who have raised around £5,000 so far, which will be split between 2 charities. Alfie & Thomas is a charity which has been set up to raise funds for specialist equipment for twin boys who are suffering from global development delay and cerebral palsy after a premature birth. Child Action Northwest offers a range of services designed to improve the lives of children and young people and end family cycles of deprivation, drug and alcohol abuse, lack of self-esteem, youth crime, teenage pregnancies and broken families.

Team member signs up for the London Marathon
Zac Oultram, Design & Estimating Manager at Konect, has signed up to compete in the London Marathon in 2016. This will be Zac’s second London Marathon, completing his first in an impressive 3 hours 56 minutes in 2015. Zac is hoping to raise over £1,500 for Sense – a national charity that supports and campaigns for children and adults who are deafblind or have sensory impairments. Chalet Chàtelard, Three Valleys, France
Konect Electrical has commenced phase two of a refurbishment programme at a substantial 5 bedroom chalet in Le Chatelard, France. Works have included a new wiring infrastructure to French standards (à la norme NF C 15-100) which encompass a new intelligent lighting control system, mains and small power distribution and communications and media cabling. Le Chatelard is in Saint-Martin-de-Belleville, a peaceful and traditional mountain village in the mighty Three Valleys. The chalet is being transformed into an impressive, bright and spacious dwelling with the added bonus of breathtaking mountain views!

ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 Accreditations
Konect Electrical Services are at present working to gain the ISO 9001 Quality Management System and the ISO 14001 Environmental Management accreditations. Konect are working extremely hard to improve working practices, where possible, and ultimately to ensure clients receive the best possible service. Konect had its first audit in September and is due a second stage assessment in October.

Konect appoints new starters
Due to Konect’s steady growth over the last few years and the recent improvements in the commercial, hotel & leisure and industrial sectors, Konect has appointed a Marketing Manager to assist with the growth and development of the business. Konect has also appointed additional electricians to manage the current high volume of work. Konect are a small business who manage to secure prestigious contracts with a large number of high profile clients, due to our high standard of workmanship and great customer service.
